How To Prepare
Mountain House freeze-dried foods are easy to prepare-just add hot water...wait 10 minutes...and eat! If a heat source is not available, room temperature or cold water can be used, too. Because no cooking is needed, these foods require much less water and fuel than most fresh, frozen or dehydrated foods (further conserving these two precious commodities.)
25 Year Shelf-Life
Mountain House® freeze-dried foods are packed in airtight NITROGEN PACKED #10 cans or pouches. Up to 98% of the residual oxygen has been removed. The unique canning process uses both vacuum oxygen removal and nitrogen flushing. This is a time consuming and slightly more costly process...but well worth it. It is the same process mandated by the U.S. Military. Mountain House foods have the longest shelf life available...up to 30 years for the Cans. If the tins are stored in a temperate environment and aways from strong light they have been tested to last up to and beyond 25 years.
The Cans
Each of our cans is coated with a protective enamel inside and out for double protection, including the lid. The cans contents are protected until you are ready to open and use them. After opening, we recommend using the contents within 1 to 2 weeks for best results and taste; using the convenient resealable plastic lid between uses. Treat any leftover food as you would fresh food.

Your Order Is In Good Hands
We cover all the costs of packaging and shipping your order to your UK mainland residence. Non UK mainland residence and European customers are charged delivery which can be calculated via the view shopping cart section of this site.
We double box orders over a 1 month supply carefully in easily storable boxes for maximum ease and simplicity for you. Sometimes Tins can get dented in transit but this wont effect the food or the life of the product as long as the tin hasn't been pierced.
We normally try to ship your product within 7-14 days of your order, depending on stock levels. Sometimes the food will have to be recooked as we only carry small stock levels, this is to maximise the life of the food to our customers. If the food has to be recooked it can take up to 12 weeks to be shipped. At any time you can login online and track the status of your order or call us for a update.
We use two main shipping companies:
We use DHL for our Europe customers. This is by road and can take up to 7 days. You will get a email when your order is dispatched.
We use UK Mail for all our UK and Ireland customers. Deliveries are usually the next day but can take up to 2 days depending on your location.
